AboutLondon Laura – March 2023 Newsletter
Hurrah for London in springtime. This is a great month to get out and about.
March in Britain
My monthly round-up of what’s on for Anglotopia includes things happening in Wales, Scotland, Cornwall and more. There are flowers, celebrations and the annual wife-carrying race!
Donatello
The latest V&A exhibition features the Italian Renaissance sculptor Donatello. But it’s not just his work – even though he was prolific enough. It’s also his contemporaries and those who influenced him and were influenced by him.
Is that it?
I’ve been writing features for the Anglotopia Coronation print magazine which is why there’s not too much to share this month. (It should be available in the Anglotopia store soon.) Plus, I’ve had a cataract operation so that whole ‘looking and writing’ thing has been a bit challenging.
What’s Planned This Month?
I’m looking forward to seeing The Ugly Duchess at the National Gallery and the After Impressionism exhibition too. The Royal Academy’s exhibition of Black Artists from the American South looks worth seeing, as does Dickens and the London Fog at the Charles Dickens Museum. I’ll be going to the Afternoon Tea Awards so can find out if I judged the winner (I think I did). And I’ll have the follow-up appt for the cataract surgery which is likely to be the pre-op for the other eye so that will see me out of action again. Still, in a few months, I should be able to see much better and will be able to tolerate bright sunshine by summertime.
