AboutLondon Laura – February 2023 Newsletter
I hope 2023 is treating you well so far. Here's to the continued hope of warmer weather coming soon.
February in Britain
From flipping pancakes to a church full of clowns, this month has some really great stuff going on. There’s a Norfolk exhibition that I’m especially looking forward to.
Cosmic House
You know how you never really know what’s behind a front door? Well, this was quite a surprise! This is a 1980s architectural post-modern experiment on a family home. And it’s being preserved so we can visit.
Spain and the Hispanic World
The latest exhibition at the Royal Academy celebrates the unrivaled collection of the Hispanic Society Museum & Library in New York. I wasn’t sure if this would appeal to me but I’m still thinking about it weeks after visiting so it’s a good ‘un.
What’s Planned?
I’ve resisted booking any travel as the weather is often a bit bonkers early in the year but I’ll get that Pembrokeshire trip planned soon so I can write an update on A Church in Wales. I’m going to see the Donatello exhibition at the V&A next week. And I have a good excuse to go to Greenwich to see The Van de Veldes: Greenwich, Art and the Sea at the National Maritime Museum. I’ve got some more articles to write for the Anglotopia souvenir coronation magazine which will be published in March. And the Cirque Berserk! theatre-circus show I’m promoting opens on 9 February at the Riverside Studios in Hammersmith. Plus, it’s my birthday this month so I’m sure that will keep me busy too.
